FAQ

Who Can Join?

All kids from K-8th grade are eligible to join regardless whether they live in Ashland or not. Note: there is a limit to how many kids we can teach at each module so please sign up early.

What is your format?

Each program consists of a 7-8 week module in which students meet. Each week, students receive is a combination of competitive play and lessons. We start with lessons of the names of the pieces, how the piece move, basic development concepts, and checkmate techniques. As kids advance, they will learn tactics like Pins, Forks, Skewers, and Double Checks. Advanced students will then learn positional, opening, and endgame strategy.
