At South Shore Chess Inc., we are committed to a single goal; we want to make the community a better place through the game of chess. We work hard to take care of the youngest members of our community and provide them with unconditional support.

South Shore Chess is a 501(c)(3) 100% volunteer educational nonprofit organization that was founded in the Boston, Massachusetts, suburbs in 2010 as a way of giving back to local communities through the game of chess. 

Since inception, South Shore Chess Inc. has started three successful chess programs in the Boston suburbs: South Shore Chess Club of Quincy, Massachusetts, vintage 2010 and Randolph Scholastic Chess Club of Randolph, Massachusetts, vintage 2012. In 2018-2019, the Ashland Scholastic Chess Academy Program of Ashland, Virginia was run.

South Shore Chess Inc. became incorporated as a non profit organization in 2012 and was deemed a 501(c)(3) educational non profit organization in 2014.

For children, the game of chess improves their  math and English skills; critical and logical thinking; communication, memory and concentration; decision making and problem solving, and builds sportsmanship, team spirit, social skills and cultural enrichment. All of the above benefits are wonderful for children to learn and develop at an early age and will use these skills for the rest of their lives.

Through the game of chess, South Shore Chess Inc. and its chess programs strive to help children succeed in school and also help them become productive members of society.
